Our Food and Our Planet on Earth Day 2008

We humans who swarm this majestic globe will try again to justify the extraction of many resources from our celestial home and rationalize our impact on the eco system. Eco Footprint, Global Warming, and their Connection to What We Eat

Northwest VEG President Peter Spendelow, Ph.D., recently presented a talk called Ecological Footprints, Global Warming, and Food Choices – How What We Eat Affects Us All. Peter, a solid waste specialist with the State of Oregon’s Department of Environmental Quality, addressed key ecological issues of today (climate change, air and water pollution, resource utilization, habitat preservation) and examine how our diets affect all these issues.
