Volunteer OpportunitiesNorthwest VEG does veg outreach at many community-sponsored events throughout the year. We hand out Veg Starter kits, other informative handouts on nutrition, recipes and compassion concerns, plus take sign-ups for our email list. We work in pairs and assign new volunteers with others with more experience. It is a fun way to make a difference and take in some interesting events. Two new events we're participating in this year are: The Whole Life Market kicks off at the National College of Natural Medicine will be held every other Sunday, 11am-3pm, June 15, 29; July 13, 27; Aug. 10, 24; Sept. 7, 21; 2-3 hr. tabling shifts available. Vendors will reflect a wide range of health care, vegan treats, and handmade items. Each market will include talks, demonstrations or short classes on topics like acupuncture and cooking. Kids activities, too! Location: The NCNM campus, 049 SW Porter St., Portland, at the west end of the Ross Island Bridge. Let Live Conference at Portland State University, June 27-29. Many 2-3 hour tabling shifts available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Wendy Gabbe for more information at volunteer@nwveg.org.
